Company Overview:
Home Comfort Retrofits Ltd, an SEAI-approved One Stop Shop specializing in energy-efficient upgrades, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective procurement of materials and services for our energy retrofit projects, aligning with our mission to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions to homeowners.

Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Strategy & Cost Management:
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy for energy retrofit projects.
  • Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for residential and commercial retrofit projects.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor market trends and maintain relationships with vendors to secure the best value.
  1. Supplier and Subcontractor Management:
  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with quality and sustainability standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery or quality issues promptly.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of supplier performance to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  1. Technical Oversight & Compliance:
  • Review technical specifications and ensure purchased materials align with SEAI requirements and building regulations.
  • Work closely with the project and design teams to identify specific material needs based on technical designs and project scopes.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all purchases, including invoices, contracts, and correspondence.
  1. Inventory Management:
  • Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory, coordinating with warehouse and project teams.
  • Implement systems to track inventory and streamline the purchasing process.
  1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for project materials and services.
  • Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Provide monthly procurement reports to management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.

Skills and Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the construction or energy sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Familiarity with SEAI regulations and energy retrofit standards is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Full, clean driving license.
