Mick O’Shea, Company Owner
Mick has been working in the construction, plumbing and heating industries for over 30 years being the mechanical contractor on a variety of both residential homes and commercial properties across Ireland. Mick founded Home Comfort Retrofits to provide specialist skills to homeowners who are seeking to upgrade their existing home’s energy efficiency and comfort levels.
Shane Duffy, Managing Director
For more than 23 years now, Shane has worked in management roles in the leading mechanical services and construction providers in Ireland. He has extensive experience and a proven track record in management, sales and business development. In particular, his success in growing the sales of Heat Pumps and renewable technologies has been phenomenal and has made a major contribution to the move to sustainability in the energy sector in Ireland.
Richard McCarthy, Quality and Training Manager
Richard has more than 50 years’ experience in the construction sector and for more than 40 years of that time he has been a construction skills trainer and lecturer. He has been involved in the development and certification of a wide range of renewable energy courses and managed the implementation of several ISO 9001 Certified Quality Management. As part of the SEAI Deep Retrofit Pilot Programme Richard retrofitted homes to an A1 BER Rating in their final assessments. Richard will focus on the development of our Quality Management Systems; training staff, advising customers and co-ordinating our internal quality audit team.
Wayne Turley, Project Manager
Wayne has extensive, on-site, construction and project management experience having worked in a variety of roles from site craftsman up to project lead in the very specialised area of clean room installation. Wayne will liaise with our customers and guide them through the energy upgrade process for their homes.
Michael Travers, Administration Manager
Michael has worked as a Life and Pensions Administration Manager in several organisations before he became owner and manager of a very successful newsagents’ business for over 20 years. Michael oversees our Customer Service teams and has implemented policies, procedures and systems to ensure a top-quality service for our customers. Michael is also our administration liaison with SEAI for our One Stop Shop service.
Owen Boyle, Purchasing Manager
Owen is a Mechanical Engineer with a Post Graduate Certificate in M&E Quantity Surveying. His extensive experience spans purchasing, procurement, project management, business development, technical support, and mechanical design. His role includes securing volume discounts and procuring trusted, high-quality products that will ensure we can offer our customers the very best value in the industry.
