Role Overview
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of our projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the construction, retrofit, or minor building works sectors, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts for retrofitting and minor building works projects.
- Implement value engineering to optimise project costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Monitor project costs against budgets and provide regular, transparent cost reports.
- Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract documentation for retrofit and minor building works.
- Administer contracts in accordance with SEAI and company guidelines, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
- Tendering & Procurement:
- Lead the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating contractor submissions, and making recommendations.
- Procure materials and services in a cost-effective and timely manner to meet project deadlines.
- Risk & Variation Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks related to costs, contracts, and project delivery.
- Assess, negotiate, and manage variations and change orders with contractors and stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the design, project management, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery, including both retrofit and minor building works.
- Maintain active communication with SEAI representatives to ensure compliance with grant funding requirements and retrofit standards.
Requirements
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction, retrofit, or minor building works sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management techniques.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
- Familiarity with SEAI grant schemes, retrofit standards, and building regulations is an advantage.
