I recently purchased an aging property in Maynooth with a D3 BER, and was keen to upgrade it to an A3 to make it more comfortable, efficient and future-proofed. I engaged a number of prospective firms to quote for the work and was bombarded with information, a variety of options, costs and concerns about making the right selection. Soon after this, I contacted Home Comforts Retrofits and within a few days of meeting Shane on site, I knew I would be in safe hands contracting them for the work. It was a simple enough contract for them, only complicated by my additional demands for small auxiliary works which were quickly agreed and completed by Shane and Wayne. Being absent for much of the project I put my trust in Shane and Wayne to manage the renovation and to use their expertise to guide me on small additional works to safeguard the property long-term. They did everything that I asked of them, at every turn they went above and beyond, and that’s a rare trait in any walk of life. There was a real personal touch that is sorely lacking in most interactions these days, from contacts with suppliers of flooring, to workmen to do small jobs for me, it was more like a family relationship. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of the firm and Shane specifically, salt of the earth, honest, stand-up guy, I feel like I’ve made a friend for life. To top it all off, the end product is far beyond anything I imagined, the advice was spot-on throughout, I’ve had many enquiries from neighbours about the company due to the high-quality finish. But best of all, thanks to their exceptional workmanship and quality of products used, from solar PV, heat-pump and external insulation, we actually exceeded the original requirement to get an BER of A3, achieving a scarcely believable A1!
